Hello

Cool stuff.

I followed the instructions and got the software deployed. Enabled the Role. Added the Change Password webpart to a web page but then I get the following error:

A Membership Provider has not been configured correctly. Check the web.config setttings for this web application.

I'm using SharePoint 2010 Foundation.

Have you already setup the web application/site collection for FBA?

If so, make sure that you've made the changes in all of the necessary web.config files:

Central Admin

Your web application

SecurityTokenService

I like to use Mirjam's guide below.  It's very easy to follow and works like a charm.  I've found most FBA blog posts to be poorly written, leaving out steps, or important details about web.config syntax.

Her guid is concise and practical.  It works every time.  I had the same error and quickly found that my SecurityTokenService wasn't configured.
